This is a 1997 custom Tahoe LS 4×4 (shift lever on floor) 5.7 Vortex V/8 with barn doors. I built this rig about 16 years ago. When I got it had almost 102,000 on it. The vehicle was well maintained. I installed a custom 10 – 12″ candy apple blue suspension kit from Cognito out of California. There are limiting straps at all four corners, and duel steering stabilizer shocks. I also installed Fomoco torsion bar keys to re-index the bars to give more height and softer ride. I also flipped the upper ball joints with grade 8 hardware, for a little more tire clearance at the corners, for the 38×15.50 15 on 15×14 Weld Scorpio wheels, 5th wheel included for spare tire if needed. The tires are brand new Super Swamper TSL radials which were installed on 08/06/15 at 163,103 mi. All new suspension components were installed at the time of the lift. some have been replaced over the years as needed. I.e.: upper ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, cam bolts, both front hubs Also a 3″ body lift, which I also raised the bumpers. The rear end was upgraded five years ago, when the stock 10 bolt gave out. It now has a 14 bolt semi float, with a Clear Gearz cover where you can see the differential and fluid. The front and rear have 4:56 gears on Detroit True Trac lockers. I installed slotted & crossed drilled rotors with ceramic pads in the front for better stopping power. The vehicle now has 164,238 mi. on it, which I’ve been told by GM service techs, that these motors if maintained can reach 300,000 + mi. The motor is stock with 8.8 mm wires, and a MSD high fire coil. There has been new a/c installed within the past two years. The transmission has a B&M three position electronic shift kit. The exhaust has a duel chamber Flow Master 60 series, with extended stainless steel bow tie tips. This rig has been well taken care of, It has seen no mud and water holes, only been in sand, and small hill climbing. There is no body rust. There is a steel Goodmark Cowl Induction hood, which is open and functional, no flimsy fiberglass. The paint is ok for the age (1997) The roof will need to be repainted soon. There are custom flame graphics on the hood and body, which are very vibrant. This vehicle turns heads when it comes down the road for sure. If I was able to keep this rig I was going to have the whole body wrapped with a custom design. I have kids which are older and require more money, so I have to let this rig go. The interior is blue and in great shape. I installed a pillar pod with three gauges (water, oil, amp.),which have changing colors for the back lights. Also there are switches for the duel battery isolator system (Painless). I had thought about parting this rig out, and make a lot more money, but I don’t have the patience, and time to do it. O.B.O.
